Microsoft SyncToy

So I'm a Computer Geek, and I should know better, but... I guess I had to learn the hard way. I have a little thumb drive, it's an older one that only stores 256 MB. However, it has been great for taking files with me from home to work, office to client locations, etc. Do you think I ever remember to back it up? Of course not. So the other day, I'm at a client site, using the drive to transfer files from my laptop and a desktop. I get impatient and pull it from the desktop before it is finished writing and pow! Everything is gone.

Thankfully I was able to rebuild most of what I destroyed - but ouch, many hours lost because I didn't remember to back it up. D'OH!

Now that I've learned my lesson, I'm using a great free program called SyncToy from Microsoft. It allows a very simple sync or backup between two folders, on different devices, or not. Hopefully, I won't repeat this mistake...

MCP

I am finally a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) in SharePoint! The test was pretty tough, considering the things I've mentioned before (too many question on topics other than WSS and SPS), but I managed a 96.2%! WOOHOO!

End of the Season

With the Bears season now officially over, I know that Bears fans everywhere need something to pick them up. Thus, I give you, Cute Overload.

Seriously though, what the hell happened to the defense last night!?! What was going on with Tillman? Where were my Bears? The ones that have no offense and killer defense. As bummed as I was, as stunned as I was, I did see things to be happy about. Finally the Bears showed some real offensive abilities. Rex threw really well (although too often), Bernian was hot until he got hurt, and Joes was solid like always. Even with the loss, it was still a great season, and it looks to be a great one next year.

As any good Chicago sports fan will tell you, next year will be the year...

2006

It is a new year, and it offers new beginnings, new adventures, and new challenges. I can't wait!
