The passing of Peter Jennings last night is very sad. From the time that I can remember watching the news, it was always him that I seeked out. He, is the only news caster that I have ever felt trust for.
My favorite moment in his career was at the beginning of the first Gulf War. After days of being on the air, almost non-stop, he looked into the camera and took a moment to thank CNN and it's reporters for being so well prepared in Baghdad. Only a true professional would end a newscast by thanking his competitors for doing their job, and doing better than his own network could.
Goodbye Peter Jennings, you will be missed.
